Hosted by the University of California, San Diego (UDSD), the University of Buffalo (UB), and the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), this two‐day workshop is designed for researchers and industry members of the earthquake engineering community as prospective users of the three NEES Shake Table Sites.
The workshop will include instruction and demonstrations on the applications, performance and operation of the University of California, San Diego Large High Performance Outdoor Shake Table (LHPOST), the University of Buffalo twin multi-axis shake tables, the University of Nevada, Reno 4-shake tables, digital and analog controllers, data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
Instruction on advanced and innovative testing capabilities at the sites includes: the UB Nonstructural Component Simulator (NCS) & Geotechnical Laminar Box and recently developed research capabilities at UNR.
This workshop will provide participants with the necessary knowledge to assist them in the development of effective NEESR proposals, experiment design and planning, data handling and archiving.
The workshop will be web-cast. Presentation materials will be provided at the workshop and made available on the workshop website.
